Guard your heart.

Hi peeps!

Hope that you are all well. Here is my latest Christian blog post.

Guard your heart with all diligence as out of it flows the issues of life – Proverbs 4:23.

The heart is deceitful above all things, who can know it? – Jeremiah 17:9.

Our hearts are so fragile, even though we may think the opposite. It is also the most important organ of the body as it pumps life into our being constantly. It never stops for a break, or sleeps, or goes on holiday but it’s constantly working for our benefit. For this reason – it should be protected. The heart is something that cannot be seen, as it’s hidden in our body and is protected by the rib cage.

Even though we may think we are good, and we try to be good, we cannot because we are born into sin and everything in us is sinful. Because of Adam’s sin, all became sinners Romans 5:12.

When Jesus was on the earth he knew what was in humans and he saw what was in our hearts. There are many scriptures that tell us that Jesus:

  • ‘knowing their hearts,’ Matt 9:4.
  • ‘knew what was in a man,’ John 2:24-25.
  • ‘reasoned in their hearts.’ Luke 5:22.
  • ‘Hardness of your heart,’ Mark 10:5.

We can hide things in our heart, either intentionally or unintentionally. Hidden sins, hidden habits: a bit of envy, a bit of unforgiveness, hatred, bitterness, the list goes on. God loves us, and He knows what is in our hearts, but He also wants to change us to become more like Him. Ask God to show what is in our heart, so we can deal with the issues that we have. We need a constant touch of God, to cleanse us and help us to get rid of some of these things that are in our hearts, so we can move on in our relationship with Him.

We need to be honest with ourselves and God to move forward. God already knows what we have in our heart anyway, so let’s not be like Adam who, when he heard the voice of God calling him, he tried to hide what he had done. God already knew where Adam was and what he had done so why didn’t Adam confess? God would have forgiven him and maybe we wouldn’t now be in the state we are in. But that is a whole other topic!

Let’s try to be honest with God, confess what we have done, and God will forgive and help us, so we can continue to live for Him and be the light of this dark world.

Thanks for reading! Feel free to share,

Sarah. 😊
