Reconnecting with God

Hi peeps, I hope that you’re all doing well.

For the first Christian blog post of the year I’d like to encourage us all to put God first this year. 😊

Let’s get real. We all lead busy lives and we’re often dashing about from one thing to the next without much thought to anything else because we are consumed by the moment.

It can be during these moments in life when we can unintentionally forget about making time for God in either prayer or reading the bible, sometimes both. We can fall into a trap where we think we will be okay if we miss a day, as we still have a relationship with God, and He understands that we haven’t forgotten about Him – we are just busy. While this is true, God does know and understand, it doesn’t make it right because God wants to be first in our lives.

God loves us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), and He is jealous for us with a Godly jealousy (2 Corinthians 11:2). When we place other things before Him, we are saying that these things are more important to us than God and he dislikes being pushed aside for anything else. He put Himself aside for others all the time during His earthly ministry, and ultimately on the cross when He died for us all.

We must make a conscious decision every day to make spending time with God first our priority, as it doesn’t happen by accident. If we have to get up earlier to make time for God, then that is what must be done so we can spend time in His presence. Of course, when we prioritise God, He will prioritise us by not only meeting with us, but by moving for us.

This year let’s be about our Father’s business and make spending time with Him our priority.

Thanks for reading! Feel free to share,

Sarah. 😊
