Hi peeps, I hope that you’re all doing well.
This week I’d like to talk about a few more of my craft projects that I made earlier this year.
Firstly, I decided to make a few sewing themed pouches to hold stitch markers, paper clips, sweets, or other small items in. I’ve made quite a few of these and have tweaked how I make them to make them look nicer. I also played about with the shape to make them a better size and I like how they turned out. I still need to find some nice snap fasteners to use on these kinds of projects because even though the ones I use are okay, they don’t always work out as I’d like them to. They are basic and do the job, but I’d like some that are a bit better quality, as I was just starting off practicing with them, they were fine.
Then I fancied making some needle cases with felt pages. Again, I tweaked the pattern to make them better. They are cute books that hold needles or pins securely so I’m not having to hunt for them. I’ve made several of these, some of them have internal pockets and others I left plain.
Lastly, I wanted to make the most of these denim jeans I bought from the charity shop last year. I want to use as much of them as possible, so I came up with an idea to turn the pockets into a bucket bag. I left the pocket on the outside so I can clip wonder clips on there or use the pocket to keep needles or small sewing notions in while I work. I used some cute cherry fabric for the tops and although the top fabric was difficult to do and didn’t turn out as pretty as I hoped it would, I still love them and they are so useful for keeping my scrap fabric pieces in.
Some of these items can be found in the shop.
